Derwent Edge including Back Tor

Route: A varied walk with stunning valley views from the Edge.

From the car park we follow a track along the Derwent reservoir before turning into the winding Abbey Brook valley. This becomes an impressive steep sided gorge, following the path we arrive at Lost Lad and Back Tor. We then walk along Derwent Edge with fantastic views across the reservoir passing some famous rock formations including the Salt Cellar. We descend back to the reservoir passing the drowned village of Derwent and back to the car park.
